FAQs & general information
What coffee grind size and paper filter size should I use?
For best results, we recommend using a medium-coarse grind. We do not recommend
using finely ground coffee because it may cause the brew basket to overflow. The brew
basket is designed to fit a #4 cone paper filter.

The thermal carafe has double-walled insulation, which keeps heat locked inside. Given
the insulation barrier, the heat from the warming plate would not reach the inside of
the carafe and affect the temperature of the coffee.

Each brew size is optimized for its corresponding brew style. Rich brew will produce
slightly less output for stronger coffee.

The brew may pause once or multiple times during the brew cycle. That’s ok. Pausing
allows the coffee grounds to fully extract and unlock the full flavor of the brew style.

The Ninja® Pod Adapter must always be installed over the brew basket when brewing KCups.
Use the single-serve cup platform when brewing into smaller vessels to avoid
splatter.

Hot heats the water to about 167°F and Boil heats the water to about 208°F. Please note
that these temperatures are an approximation and that the water will cool as it is
dispensed into the vessel.

The integrated frother is capable of transforming hot or cold milk into silky microfoam.
The frother does not heat liquid. For hot froth, the milk will need to be either preheated
in the microwave for 45 to 60 seconds or simmered on a stovetop. Cold froth is made
with cold milk and is an excellent addition to iced lattes or frozen blended drinks.

For hot froth, we recommend whole milk. For cold froth, we recommend skim milk. Best
results are achieved with hot froth. For non-dairy alternatives, we recommend using any barista blend.

The KEEP WARM function activates the Intelligent Warming Plate, which is a heater that
can be turned on manually and will automatically turn on after you start a Carafe size
brew on either the Classic brew or Rich brew setting. The hot surface light is a safety
feature that illuminates when the warming plate is too hot to touch. If you leave your
brewing vessel on the warming plate for an extended period, the hot surface indicator
may illuminate, even if the KEEP WARM function has not been initiated. The hot surface
light will remain illuminated until the warming plate has reached a temperature that’s
safe to touch. DO NOT touch the surface when this light is illuminated.
